About

The Madeleine Foundation

A warm welcome to our website, which deals with one of the main stories of the past two years - the reported disappearance of Madeleine McCann on 3 May 2007.

We share the views of the original senior police investigator into why Madeleine went missing - Mr Goncalo Amaral. He maintains that the evidence strongly suggests that Madeleine died in the McCanns’ holiday apartment in Praia da Luz - and that the McCanns, probably with the help of some of their friends, hid her body. He’s recently published a book about the investigation, titled: ‘The Truth About a Lie’.

He has been touring Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire on his Triumph Bonneville America bike to promote the booklet. Amongst the places he has visted have been Leicestershire Police Headquarters and the McCanns’ home village of Rothley.
